(Washington, DC) – The Charles Allen for Ward 6 campaign has filed its January 31st Finance Report of Receipts and Expenditures with the DC Office of Campaign Finance showing $112,028 in contributions since Allen announced his candidacy in mid-October.
Allen reported contributions from 567 individual donors, with 74% of the total funds coming from Ward 6 residents, and 88% coming from DC residents.
Allen’s campaign has pledged to accept donations only from individuals, taking no special interest, PAC, or LLC funds. Clean Slate Now, a national good government and campaign finance reform advocacy organization, has recognized Allen’s campaign for DC Council.
“I am incredibly proud of the strong support for my campaign shown by donors across Ward 6. We are standing together for better schools, age-friendly neighborhoods, a vibrant small business community, and an end to DC’s pay-to-play politics,” said Allen.
Campaign Chair Laura Marks praised the campaign’s report, saying, “With 74% of our donations coming from Ward 6, it’s clear voters here are excited about this race and our campaign. Our broad-based grassroots support stretches across Ward 6 and puts us in a great position to win on April 1st.”
